5 Holiday Appetizers to Make this Season
Can you believe the holidays are just around the corner?! I recently helped you check off your Christmas shopping list with my Foodie Gift Guide so now its time to for the most important part of the holidays…THE FOOD! This time of year is full of holiday parties. Whether its with your family, friends or co-workers you are likely to run into an occasion where you need to bring something. But not to worry I have plenty of ideas below! Starting with Hot & Cheezy Artichoke and Asiago dip.
1. Artichoke & Asiago Dip
Ingredients for artichoke and asiago dip
14 oz can artichoke hearts, drained and chopped. You can also dice them up in a food processor if you don’t want bigger pieces.
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/2 cup grated asiago cheese + a couple tablespoons for topping
4 drops Tabasco sauce or more if you like a bit of heat!
1-2 cloves minced garlic
1/2 cup Mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream, I used lactose free
1/2 teaspoon paprika
handful fresh chopped parsley (split in two portions)
How to make artichoke asiago dip
Preheat oven to 350 F. If you want a smoother consistency I would recommend using a food processor to pulse the artichoke hearts a few times. This will give you smaller pieces to work with. Mix all ingredients except for the extra asiago, one portion of parsley and half of the paprika, in a bowl. Grab an oven-proof dish, and one that is dip friendly preferably (so not a lot of depth). Pour the mixture into the dish and then pop into the oven for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven, sprinkle remaining parsley, asiago and paprika to add a top layer. Pop back in the oven for 15 minutes. At the end turn your oven on broil for 2-3 to make the top layer nice and crispy!
Best served with tortilla chips ( I like the Que Pasa brand), crackers or veggies!
Follow my recipe here and just put smaller portions into the rice paper to make appetizer size rolls.
